sonim xp3 sprint: firmware and custom rom?

I'm currently using sonim xp3 sprint version, with usb debugging and OEM unlock enable. The questions I want to ask (and hopefully have an answer too) is:
How do you extract it firmware (boot.img file)? And can you install custom Rom (ASOP 8.1, the kind that kyocera using) on the phone?

thece21 Can you explain? i couldnt find anything in the post. If you are using the Sprint verison how are you using it with another carrier? Did you unlock the phone?

chaimzalman oh, i bought the phone via Shopee( Ebay in asia) and it just works. Probably got unlock before it got sold.
