sdmde What are the general steps to remove browser and video playback on a phone that can be rooted and flashed?
Flippy Yes I do see twrp and custom kernels for the Flip3 on XDA Forums. Once I root the phone would I have access to the kernel and be able to make changes to the existing kernel or would I have to use a new custom kernel? If I can access the existing kernel code, I think i can disable browser that way more easily?
I remember Fig initially disabling browser on the android messenger then eventually they moved to their own messenger app, I would what the reason for that was?
Biden2020prez why is it not possible? Because the phone doesn't allow custom ROMs on it?
Flippy Does the TAG filter remove all video playback? Like if i transfer something from my computer to phone?
sdmde I posted in a different thread, [Login to see the link]. It would be great to get your input as it seems like you are doing something similar albeit for the f21.
ChapsTheMatzav No unfortunately not at the moment. Maybe I will try to do it android possibly.
Hi everyone, I had the f21 for a few months (started having problems) so then I got the flip recently (its been 2 months and also starting to have problems). I really want the galaxy z flip4. How hard would it be to either copy the software from the Fig phone to the galaxy z and make the necessary modifications. Or more realistically make a similar dummed down android OS for the flip4. I saw that European version of the flip4 supports rooting so it should be possible right? Essentially wondering if someone can give me a breakdown of the steps needed to do something very similar as fig for a phone like the flip4. Based on my research I would need to,
I'm a software engineer at AWS, backend/data systems not mobile. I did just started working with Kotlin but my skills in the area are limited.
TY in advance.
Is anyone else having issues with Waze? I am still having the issue that the street is correct but the street number is essentially ignored and inaccurate. [Login to see the link]
[Login to see the link] how hard is it to do with a jailbroken iPhone? Will it be possible to also block resetting the phone or is using another person's iCloud the only way.

Hi I am a backend developer, not mobile, I would be seriously interested in finding out a way to koshering an iPhone.
Essentially in addition to parental controls which allow us to block internet and apps, we would need to be able to remove all video playback and the ability to reset the phone.
We can remove the ability to reset the phone by having someone else put in an iCloud account which the person doesn't have the password to.
Finally for video playback, I think there is a way to remove it without jailbreaking the phone. Livigent has a profile that they install on the phone that can block any network calls that they want. They tried blocking the native video players in different apps like WhatsApp but it didn't work. It's a possibility to try that again. Or maybe we would need to jailbreak the phone, but that seems like a much more difficult option.
Since you are in the field, do you think this is possible and how much work would it require?
[Login to see the link] yes messaging is blocked for me as well
[Login to see the link] Where are those settings on the LG classic flip? Wasn't able to find it, thanks.
Also for waze I've had an issue where I put in one address in the launcher but it takes me to a different address in waze. I can see the different address when I go to waze -> history. For example I put in 1556 Coney Island avenue but it takes me to 346 Coney Island avenue.
[Login to see the link] Also will installing the gentech filter on the LG classic not give me the ability to use the apps if they already installed?
There is a problem on the phone where if you enabled voice access and you get a phone call, you hear a bunch of vibration/clicking noises for the first minute or so. I believe this is because once you get a phone call and you answer, voice access turns on and every time you speak it causes it to repeatedly make noise.
I am able to change it using voice access only
I see, we can just ignore the error and continue. Is it possible to say OK google to activate the voice access or do we have to activate/deactivate it manually everytime?
regarding voice access, I am getting uid 10173 error
[Login to see the link] I see, so we just have to always use the first route by default?
[Login to see the link] [Login to see the link] Uninstalling and Installing with location enabled worked! Now I have a problem where I can not move the cursor in Waze at all, perhaps to see the different routes. Is this not an option?
Never mind I got it, we need to Dial ##228378 and we can do it from there, thanks.
