FRP lock

nortforreal actually it does not prevent reflashing it only is supposed to protect against factory reset (frp = factory reset protection). From what I understand samsung just takes it a bit extreme but there are a few guides online for rooting samsungs with that issue

nortforreal nortforreal Nope. Not at all. In fact many services offer FRP Bypass.

Think of it like this: If I purchase a phone, and make a full firmware backup, and I sign in to a google account, then factory reset, and I can't get into the phone because of FRP.

Then I reflash my full backup: The phone does not have any old information, and it will be restored to the exact state it was before the backup, and it will let me go in and it wont be bricked.

The only other way is to modify something in the hardware as soon as the phone is signed into a google account, and never switched back.

That is true, but it is due to FRP not being implemented properly. If you read the FRP docs, the FRP status is supposed to be stored in a location that can't be flashed.

Kgr We are sort of having two conversations simultaneously. Generally, FRP is something that forces you to sign in even after factory reset. But in your case, it's some sort of weird Samsung thing.

nortforreal I don't see where it says that the partition cannot be accessed. Can you tell me a line #?

Kgr I'm pretty sure there's gotta be a way, but I'm not sure what it is and I am not so familiar with Samsung.

Kgr I would search google and youtube to see if you can figure it out. hard for me to make suggestions without having the physical device. Besides for what I sent in your email, I don't have anything else to send
