• Sonim xp3 Camera stopped working

Anybody else have this problem? My Sonim xp3 camera stopped working, have two friends with the same issue with the xp3.

BeBrave I have the same issue, it seems like the camera isn't recognized at all by the system, droid info doesn't pick it up, and when I reset the phone it just removed the camera app from the phone, I assume because there are versions of the xp3 that don't have a camera, so the system puts that one on when it doesn't detect a camera. I sent an email to customer service, but they never responded, I was planning on opening the phone and trying to reconnect the camera, but I never got around to it. If anyone finds a solution it would be appreciated

Techgen But if the system doesn't recognise the camera then why did it work until now?

BeBrave I don't mean to say that it never was recognised, im just saying that now that seems to be the problem. When you're trying to diagnose an issue you have to narrow down where the problem is, so based on what I see on my phone it looks like it is not a software issue, rather it seems to be a hardware connectivity issue since the phone doesn't recognize that there is a camera connected at all. (On PCs it can also be a driver issue, but i not sure how likely that is on an android)

Was anyone able to fix it?

I have the same issue, I think it stopped working by me after a firmware update, is there anyway to revert the firmware update?

BTW WIFI calling used to not work by me, but got fixed after the update

Im assuming you guys aren't using the PLUS model like myself. I have no issues with the camera after firmware update.

I have the same issue after a firmware upgrade. Called customer service and they wanted me to send the phone in for repair. I told them I will not give up the phone. And if they can upgrade it remotely, why can't they fix the problem remotely. Doesn't make any sense. They should be able to do that.

Doesn't seem that anyone will find a solution. Sonim's solution is to send it to them for repair. They know that's not an option because we still need our phones. It seems to be a software issue after the last upgrade. Happened the same day. Sonim Customer Service is horrible. Time to get another brand. They are not able or willing to fix it remotely. Seems odd since they can upgrade it remotely.
