Hello! Can anyone advise on how to install Message plus on the Extreme? Ive heard that it can be done. I downloaded the apk and installed it, but it now says that I have to click for permissions and doesn't allow me to do so. I'm not that tech savvy so please help. Thanks

Ok so I figured how to allow all the permissions and Message Plus is working. However, I'm having 2 issues. The messages arent showing up on the extrenal screen. There seem to be different versions of message plus. not sure if i should have installed a different one. also, to make message plus work, I had to make it that default SMS app and disable the regular message app. Now the button that usually is assigned to messages doesn't work. Any way to map it to message plus?

this is the version of the apk i installed and it works far better than many others i tried. im not sure. It's version 6.4.5 which is the same version number as the one on the cadence and the duraxv. It was posted on a Verizon forum where people were complaining about the lack of message plus on the Extreme. Its the only version i tried which seems to be optimized for a flip, and works well, except for this detail. Also its not displaying to the external screen. I wanted to try to pull the Cadence version off of my friend's phone to see if it's exactly the same. I can't seem to be able to do it properly. I used Wedadb and used pm list packages and path and "pull" but it didnt work. If someone could instruct me on the proper commands to pull and extract using webadb i'd really apprciate. If you have the exalt version of messaenger plus or a different one for he kyocera phones I would appreciate

rabbims You may want to back up your phone and then reset it. That should solve all of your issues, and save you a lot of time.

Not sure what you mean. For some reason, the Extreme comes without message+ installed, just with a lousy SMS app that is extremely limited. That's not enough for my needs. So far I've managed to download the proper version of message plus (v6.4.5, which is for flips), install it, and set all the proper permissions. It's working fine, except for the external screen and the soft key set for messages. its also only syncing one way (syncs to my iphone which i prefer not to use, but not back from iphone to the flip). I was asking for help with fixing those issues, but they are minor compared to not having a decent messaging app. If you have any idea how to get the external screen to work id appreciate, can't find any setting for it in any developer menu or app Ive seen so far.

I dont know that it is possible. It SHOULD be possible - the native messaging app displays to external screen, and this exact version of message+ displays to external screen on the Cadence and the Kyocera DuraXV, so why should the Extreme be different? But I havent found anyone who knows how... Flippy You can download from apk pure a app called Hidden settings and u can set from there what should be default messaging app and then the messages come up by notifications ()Correction not on outer screen) just like the default messaging app I actually installed the oldest version of message plus that apk pure had which is 6.7.12 but it doesn't work that well because that version is really designed to use with a touchscreen also u can add widgets on the menu so instead of browser u can have the message plus icon there though u cant have the default messaging app and message plus at the same time because once u set message plus for default then the regular messaging crashes

moshe1 Nice, if it works to display on the front screen it would be great. I'm not sure what you mean by widgets though, on the extreme you can set menu items to whatever you want, including message plus instead of the browser, without using hidden settings

here is a link [[Login to see the link]] to a google drive file with message plus that was pulled from a cadence it works b''h excellently on the e4810 if u want to delete a conversation you can delete the conversation by selecting it by options-select threads and then delete by pressing right softkey. 2 issues when you want to add an attachment by taking a pic by pressing take photo it doesn't go, number 2 is that if you want to delete a conversation by long pressing it then you need to press delete with a mouse. When I installed it kept on crashing so I went to the dev options and u go to the last option on the list which is advanced and go to apps and notifications (hidden settings app and go to the line that says app info) and u scroll down till u find message plus and u press it and then press permissions and then press on all switches icons there except location I think isn't necessary

moshe1 do you know of a way to do this on the extreme PLUS? i did it no problem on the regular duraxv extreme but on the extreme plus it just refuses to start up without crashing...

Techgen I think it only comes up on the outside screen by the new version of message plus that doesn't work to well on a non-touch phone I'm not 100 percent sure it does but if I remember correctly it does but using the version that works normally far outways having it come up on the outer screen. regarding widgets I didn't know that u can set the widgets with regular settings I'm new to the e4810

I wanna know if there is a way to install the regular Message Plus app (for Smart Phones) on my Kyocera E4180?
I've download it and installed but I can't go in to a conversation it came up that the app has bin stoped

Lonely I installed it on the E4810 (downloaded it from apk pure) and I used this [[Login to see the link]] app to allow the permissions for the app and to make it the default message app and I disabled the default message app by going to the last option in the dev option menu list and I set with button mapper the right soft key when u double tap it, it should open the message plus app. Though it is made to use with a touch screen therefore u can only use with a mouse app and even with that it isn't fully functional, u cant swipe the screen with a flip phone after all. I used the oldest version of the smartphone version message + app that apk pure had I don't know about the latest versions will work

I have a (small) issue with the message + on the extreme when I go in to a conversation it goes to the first message in the conversation so I have to scroll down to see my recent messages is there a fix for that anyone?

I noticed that "Notification Access" is not available on the Extreme. is it possible that because of this restriction is why it won't let messages plus display to the outer screen? (As it's probably only available for the built in apps...)

There are 2 you must try both, because some only work on lower versions of android:

adb shell cmd notification allow_listener com.mypackage.app/com.mypackage.app.mylistener
adb shell settings put secure enabled_notification_listeners com.mypackage.app/com.mypackage.app.mylistener
