does voice access allow talk to text? also, do i need data or wifi for it to work? because i installed it without data and wifi and did all the cmands and everything and nothing working only google bar on top and not picking up my voice.... if someone can tell me how to set this up the right way lg exalt thanx!

MXRJR 1) It does. 2) You need wifi or data only when you are using it, but not during the installation and commands process.

MXRJR You can set the voice access button using voice access settings itself, just turn on voice access and say "voice access settings". Make sure to exit the button setting window by saying the number on the screen, after pressing the button to set it.

Biden2020prez btw - have you ever paired an audio device on Schok Flip? When I try, I get the normal pop-up showing where to enter the password, and a couple of check boxes, ("password contains symbols", etc), but no way to press Enter, (or Connect, or whatever), so I can never get it to pair...

Biden2020prez figured out that the button is mislabeled, "123", (as in, if you want to change the input style). Clicking that is "enter"...
By the way, I just got an update notification. It's dated from July, but I've been using the phone for months, and I just now got it. I can't update, (it just says "error" and reboots when I try), probably because my bl is unlocked, and I've got other mods going, (disabled system apps, added Google stuff, etc.). Do you know what that update is?

Flippy Left 2 different messages on the phone, and sent 2 emails over the last few months. Never any answer on the phone, and no response from emails...

Just relocked bl to see if update will work, but still not. I select "update now", and it says, "...phone will reboot...", then powers off with "updating android", then goes to a blank screen that says "error", and reboots. It says update is version 1.1.7. Current is 1.1.6

Any ideas?

lgexalter1 Thanks. I thought about such things, (there's also a "install from storage" option in the update screen), but I poked around logcat for a while, and couldn't find the location. One suspect is /data/system/..., but I can't even see what's in there without permissions, either through apps or through adb - always 'permission denied'... I was kind of hoping that [Login to see the link] would know where it is.

Thanks. Ran logcat, clidked 'check for updates', got 'update available', clicked 'download', waited a minute and killed log and checked file. No sign of any url in the file. I guess I could let the whole thing download, and attempt to update, and then check it again, but the log would be probably over 100mb. It takes about 10 minutes to finish download...

lgexalter1 That's what I meant... "adb logcat > log.txt". Then, when done, open the file and search, and nothing that looks like a url, (no http, or .com, etc.)

lgexalter1 No, that's what I was saying. I captured about 10-15 seconds, and the file is half a megabyte. The whole process of downloading and attempting to install the update is at least 10 minutes. It would probably be a huge file... I can bite the bullet and give it a try. Thanks

lgexalter1 Figured it out by the recovery log... The update file was downloaded to SD card, and then access denied when trying to unzip it. Why there was permission to write to the card but not read it is kind of funny... Anyway, removing the card solved the problem. Update complete, and the Flip now has a cursor...
