Does anybody know why magisk is not showing up in the list of apps when I dial ##217703##. I followed whynot’s guide how to root the phone exactly as stated (3 times) and its still not showing up. I even tried restarting the phone and it still didn’t work. does this have to do with that I installed the kosher rom?
Also does anybody Know how to install a microg for the tcl, kyocera and lg classic?

Does anyone know how to remove the video playback in the galley through adb?

HADELSCAPS Yes, If you install the Kosher Rom, it blocks all additional apps, including magisk

Biden2020prez I have the T-Mobile version; I don't think it is compatible.

Reifam I have no clue what you mean by this, please explain

Biden2020prez Sorry for the confusion. I think the custom ROMs won't work for the TCL Go Flip (the T-Mobile version of the TCL Flip 2). Neutronscott's ROM still works.

Reifam Neutronscott didn't make a rom, he helped us bypass restrictions and install apps, and also many other things like getting write access to system.
And correct, you probably wont have service if you install one of [Login to see the link] kosher roms.

I wanted to report back that today I got the 60-day carrier unlock texts from Tracfone, which worked fine for both the 8GB and 16GB T408DLs, then I went forward on rooting for the 16GB, with the 8GB for a future date. I used the python version of the autobooter on a Linux notebook, which put the phone in fastboot mode, then "fastbootd" mode for speed, permitting me to flash the neutron.img for Magisk in just a few seconds. (The flash did a "factory reset" of sorts, but the phone was still carrier unlocked.) It took a couple of boots, but I got Magisk fully installed, was able to "su" an "adb shell", write-enabled the system, then got developer mode working. That's proof-of-concept for me. I'll get more into it later.
Thanks again to everyone who made this possible.

bochur2000 What's the error? is it closing right away?
Bbochur2000Level 1 - Junior Member
yes
ANYBODY know why when i click the number 1 with the mouse it stays down?
FliphoneBochurLevel 5 - Gold Elite Member
bochur2000 Try running the program in command prompt and tell us the error. If the error is No MTK Preloader ports found, then unplug your phone, take out and put back in your phone battery (after waiting a second), plug your phone back in (without autobooter running), so a popup from windows comes up saying MTK preloader (or something like that), unplug the phone again, take out the battery again, put it back in, run autobooter, plug the phone in, and it should work. Please let us know if it does.

Forgot to mention before: I have two T408DLs, one 8GB, one 16GB. Used images from [Login to see the link] (neutron.img for boot, recovery2.img for recovery). On the 16GB, first neutron.img gave Magisk root, so I could backup the original recovery via dd before flashing the new one. On the 8GB, first recovery2.img gave adb shell with su, backed up original boot with dd before flashing new one. Now have backup original boot and recovery. (There might be a better way to do it.)
(Recovery2 is a good back door in case any mods goes south.)
