548 papothepapo Biden2020prez I downloaded the esim.me app on my cat s22 flip, it says compatible. In that case there is a flip phone that has esim.

papothepapo It is possible that it is not compatible because is runs android go which is missing a few API's.
The CAT S22 is also Android 11 go so that isn't the issue

ZTEGuy papothepapo Whoops turns out cat s22 isn't esim compatible, unless you put an actual esim in the sim card slot. Sorry.
The esim.me app tells you if your phone supports esim-sim cards.

Kgr unless you put an actual esim in the sim card slot
How is that possible? Aren't esims not physical?

Biden2020prez Sort of. Basically some phones have esim built it to never need a physical sim. Others like cat s22 don't have it built in and you need a physical sim. The benefit of having a physical esim card is so you can switch carriers without switching sims.

Kgr OK got it. The posts above were confusing. So do you actually need to have a compatible model to USE the esim.me? Or is it only to program it? (E.g. Can you program it in any compatible smartphone with the app and then move the physical esim.me to a non-compatible phone?

Flippy Answering my own question:
Is eSIM.me for Android smartphones only?
Android smartphones are able to download, manage and read eSIM profiles thanks to the eSIM.me Card; while other mobile devices can at least read the active eSIM profile on the eSIM.me Card.Is eSIM.me available for iPhones and Apple devices?
No, it is not. Currently there are no plans of an eSIM.me APP for iOS devices. The eSIM.me APP necessary to download and manage the eSIM profiles of an eSIM.me Card is available only for Android.
However, users of iOS devices can use an eSIM.me Card to read the active eSIM profile previously downloaded and activated on an Android smartphone.
So if you just get someone with a compatible android phone, seems like you might be able to use any phone.
