I am in search of a messaging app that works with keypads.
I have tried the Google Messages port but it is designed for smartphone screens therefore the layout is very cluttered.
The Kyocera Dura XV Extreme's messaging app has a poor design. Especially the conversation list, as it's very hard to see full names of the contacts you're having conversations with.
I have tried Message+ but unfortunately it only sends/receives MMS via the Verizon network. I am an AT&T network user so this app doesn't work.
Does anyone have any other messaging apps available? Would I be able to extract mine from another phone (via adb) with a better messaging app?

There's QKSMS, which works well, but you'll need some other accessibility feature to get at certain items on the screen. I've found that to be the case with any SMS apps I've tried. Between on-screen cursor, Voice Access, and Switch Access, it's usually not a big problem.
Also, SMSDroid works well, since it's so old, but looks it's age...
There's also another one that is either based on QKSMS code, or QKSMS is based on it, but I can't remember the name, maybe it was Pulse... I think QKSMS is the better of the two

Biden2020prez Everything working for me except accessing the top bar, (with search and menu), but easily enough done with Switch Access, etc...
[Login to see the link] - there's also Silence SMS, which I guess is also based on QKSMS, but looks quite different, and might work better on some phones...
