FliphoneBochur i bricked one as well, but turns out it is not actually bricked. i tried swapping the mother board with a functional one of an older firmware and it did the same. i suspect the new hardware is not compatible with the older firmware. but the motherboard itself is not bricked.

you can access developer options on the coolpad with the following steps:
a) Download this app: [Login to see the link]
b) Place it in the downloads folder << important, it won't work otherwise
c) Launch the app from the download app under tools, NOT from file manager.
d) use the arrows to launch developer options.
From there, it is plain old android. You can install whatever you'd like, even replacing the entire app launcher with another.
The only limitations I've encountered was 1) the RAM of this phone is very little. 2) I didn't have a good app launcher to make launching my installed apps feasible or worthwhile.
