lgexalter1 I know this is an old post but I am finding (on the T408DL) that this problem comes from an interaction between button mapper and voice access such that using button mapper shortcuts to start Voice Access interferes with the keyboard and the keyboard defaults to * through 9 and loses its ability for text, kt9 and symbols. What fixes the issue for me is rebooting and then using one of notifications toggle, ListLauncher or a key shortcut set in Settings| Phone Settings|Key shortcuts to start Voice Access and preferably removing the Button Mapper mapping to activate Voice Access so as not to accidentally invoke it and recreate the problem

      dovwcom i Have had the issue simply when i add too many buttons to button mapper.

          Biden2020prez this is the only button I added - did your buttons include Voice Access? - if it did maybe that's what did it - when I get a moment I can test assigning long-press on the back button to Voice Access which is an existing button and see if that breaks too

              dovwcom Tested some more and on my T408DL I don't have any problems with Button Mapper when using one of the pre-defined buttons (backspace or volume) for an application mapping to Voice Access or a Root script to enable/disable cursor but from an added button each of those two mappings on their own break text when either initially customizing the added button after which texting breaks on using the button or if the added button is customized and then the phone power-cycled text is broken after powering back up even without using the added button at all.

              I have no understanding of why any of this behavior is the way it is - it's just what I have seen

                I recently encountered a few e4610 phones that seem to connect only to Verizon 3g network and not 4g network, which makes the phone basically useless, anybody knows what I am talking about?

                      Techgen Did you get any assistance on this? I'm having the same problem and i have lots of sensitive data on that phone. I have all 10,000 combinations of possible pins but at this point it's making me wait 16,000 seconds between attempts. Any advice?

                          dvp If you previously authorized a computer on your phone, you can backup your info using adb backup as shown [Login to see the link] with notepad, and with adb pull.

                                  I ended abusing Web.ABD to use the scripnt to control the screen.

                                  Where does the phone back up the info? I looked in the storage on the phone, but can't seem to find the file. Though when looking in the app you can see the backup.

                                        dvp Did you have a way to do it at the end?

                                          Myi On the menu where you select the backup location, select your phone, and then "choose my own folder" on bottom.

                                                FliphoneBochur I did that exactly but still have no way to access that folder on my phone. Nor can I see it on my computer.
                                                Unless it's saved in the app itself and thats why I can't see it. I though I selected my own folder.

                                                As well you'll need to use a mouse or the web adb to control your device as not all the keys work with your dial pad.

                                                    Myi I have no clue. I tested this app on the Go Flip V & a few Kyoceras, and it worked just fine. Do you have an SD card in? Maybe try it with one in. If that doesn't fix the problem, I have no idea. Anybody have any ideas? If nobody comes up with anything or finds a way to fix the problem, maybe try backing it up to the cloud.

                                                          Air_Condition Not really, just trying to wipe them all and put Filter and info back on.
                                                          Exalts I'm working on.
                                                          Blue one is the one I currently use.
                                                          And the new TCL was playing around with installing a filter and blocking the browser and all.

                                                              FliphoneBochur Can try that. Though the same way I backed up the exalt notes as posted in another thread, I ran a backup file in adb for the actual app sms package and then will restore it later after reinstalling the app. Hoping it would find that file. Though slight problem was, that the backup was 1.4gb and when saving the file to my computer as a backup it's showing only 517mb. Will try another SD card, which may give it another location to back the info to.

                                                                  A few things:

                                                                  Myi FliphoneBochur I just tried on my phone without an SD card, and it worked fine. The Classic is weird.

                                                                  Myi Your phone might be showing Raw data while your computer is showing compressed or you didn't backup MMS. Make sure your backup settings are configured the way you want.

                                                                  Myi Dropbox and OneDrive are also options if you have a browser on your phone.
