neutronscott you've mentioned in the past that there's a way to do it using magisk. Would you be able to elaborate?

I fixed my problem using the adb from platform-tools. I'm not sure why that works, but it does.

Google 'how to use adb' there are many guides online. The basics are is that it is a command line/prompt program. You need to open command prompt or powershell on the directory where you have adb downloaded. Once there you run the commands.
And you need to write ./ before each command
fastboot
is not adb fastboot
neutronscott in ADB I typed fastboot flashing unlock
