Macher I think you're talking about when the browser hasn't been removed (via adb). In which case the phone opens the browser automatically.
Once the browser is removed, it isn't possible without imap.
Google wouldn't allow any random email app to connect to Gmail. Either you sign in online or you use imap.

Jumptoheaven I think some apps allow you to sign in to gmail/google through their app, i'm pretty sure the one I use -Aquamail- had it like that, but im not sure, i set it up a while ago

Jumptoheaven even with no browser ((yes removed with adb or gen tech filter ) you need to first go into google gmail settings and allow unsecured apps then you can sign in by putting the password then email I did it tons of times for me and my friends

Techgen most email apps have some email providers saved as presets. For example the email app on the exalt has, Yahoo, AOL, outlook, Microsoft exchange, etc.
I would imagine that they either have a deal with those email providers, or they have the imap preset.
But I could be wrong
Use whatever works for you.

Macher I'm glad it worked for you. I tried that (including allowing unsecure apps) and it didn't work for me.

It worked tons of times do it ((allow unsecured apps) and right away and sign in cause if you donβt I find that it automatically goes back to not allowing unsecured apps

Macher a friend of mine told me that it worked for him too, so IDK maybe you're right.
Jumptoheaven Do you maybe have MFA setup on your gmail?
[Login to see the link] just want to make sure that you still work on the livigent filter to be able to use your apps.

[Login to see the link] Does the lg exalt block from kosher apps for flip take off browser for good? is there a way to get it back if i ever would want?
TechgenLevel 6 - Platinum Elite Member
exalter123 From what I understand it removes it the same as removing with adb, which should come back if the phone is reset

Anyway to remove or block the browser on sonim xp3 flip phone without it affecting anything else on the phone?
TechgenLevel 6 - Platinum Elite Member
Gratitudetocreator You can block with the built in applock on the xp3 called safeguard in sonim scout. and you can uninstall with adb
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.browser
GratitudetocreatorLevel 3 - Gold Member
Techgen I have nothing from the safeguard if I wanna use it for to lock other apps say when I lend my phone! It's one password for everything. So doing that thing through adb should remove it completely?
GratitudetocreatorLevel 3 - Gold Member
Techgen and also wanna know if it removes it completely? Meaning it wouldn't show up in menu or its just gonna be blocked/ inaccessible?
TechgenLevel 6 - Platinum Elite Member
Gratitudetocreator yes, unless you factory reset
GratitudetocreatorLevel 3 - Gold Member
Techgen will it still show up in menu?
