Atusb Does the reset button work after doing all those steps?

chaimzalman Yes. The only way it wont work is if you get a filter (from tag or geder etc.)

Atusb You may have to put USB connection as file transfer or MIDI device in order for it to be recognized.
Also you first need to enter ./adb devices

Lev26 usually only works on charging mode.....

Atusb So why are you advising someone to do those steps for his son if the phone can easily be reset?

The best option (which is also free) is [Login to see the link] provided by gentech. This is a free option although it requires you to install it yourself.

Tag, Geder, and Meshumer should be able to help you install the above filter if you need help.

In regard to the many other filtering options available, we cannot give a recommendation for any of them since we have not tried them, nor have we gotten user feedback on them yet. Therefore we strongly suggest going with the above as it has been tried and tested.

If you want to remove stuff yourself here are the following ADB commands.

                  Browser
adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.android.browser

                  FM Radio
adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.lge.fmradio

                  Email
adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.lge.email

                  Texting
adb shell pm uninstall –user 0 com.android.mms

Atusb Not on the phones I used...

Lev26 I Always use charging mode. No other mode works for me. I have done hundreds of phones. Maybe it depends on the adb host device (computer)?

                      oh....

people should bare in mind that filters are not a good safeguard to be dependent on, as all filters some way or another can be breached which make every device a potential problem regardless of its filter status....the best filter is the one that u create within urself meaning that u are properly aware of the risks and u are very well educated about why u shouldn't want an unfiltered device, this changes the dependency to something more realistic...and only then can u take advantage of a filter which will aid you in protecting what u instilled in yourself. of course never trust yourself, because the facts are that u simply cant always trust yourself, but a filter is much more powerful when it is used with a person who is himself "filtered", because both him and the filter are going in the same direction.

                      just some wisdom to ponder....

                      a year later

im trying to remove browser. keep getting
                      adb.exe: no devices/emulators found
                      any suggestions?

FliphoneBochur thank you but i just realized that there was a filter on the phone so thats probably why it wasnt going
