I smashed the top display and it's completely ruined. The inner one works fine tho. Is the top screen modular enough that if I bought another phone I could just swap the busted one out? I put a lot of stuff on this phone and I'd prefer not to have to transfer it to another

lgexalter1 I don't actually have a Pc. I had to borrow someone else's just to get the os on. The one I used is an HP stream. It's junk. Basically a it's got Chromebook specs and tries to run normal windows 10. Badly. Intel Celeron and 4gb ram. Id prefer just replacing the component. Plus if I break the old flip phone opening it I still have the new one

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I got the Alcatel GO FLIP 4 (4056W) in June from a T-mobile store, and it ran on KaiOS. It broke a few days ago when I dropped it so I went to a different T-mobile store and bought the TCL FLIP Go (4058W), which runs on Android, I believe. I've read through this whole thread looking for info about it, even though I didn't completely understand most of what the posts were saying. (Although I don't understand it, whatever is going on with ADB stuff, etc. sounds very cool and it's amazing that people are testing out solutions for so many different phones - so thank you to everyone involved)
Can someone explain to me what's with all these different models of this phone? If they look exactly the same why do they run different operating systems? The Alcatel one had google maps, but the TCL one doesn't have any extra apps - does anyone know why not? It sounds like people here are trying to figure out a way to add apps to it, but has anyone figured out a safe and successful way to do it with this TCL model? I don't want to do anything that will cause my phone to break or not function properly.
If someone has the TCL model I do have more questions about how it works, so please let me know.

Archie Like you said the 4056 runs KaiOs. The 4058 runs a modified android. All 4058 are very similar and only have minor differences. One if the differences that could have major ramifications when trying to mod the phones is the partition layout. The ability to install apps has been figured out and involves flashing a custom boot.img using fastboot. If you want more specific help I would be glad to help you and you can reach me directly at [Login to see the link] .

what do i need to do to my phone to be able to run a command? when i debug it & use web adb & put in commands in the interactive shell nothing happends

Does anyone know how/if there is a way to add words to a custom dictionary on the TCL FLIP Go (4058W)? The t9 dictionary doesn't have basic words like "Yeah", besides for wanting to add my own words like names and Hebrew words. If not, is there any kind of algorithm that will recognize/predict words once you use them a lot? Just got it so not sure yet.
Also if anyone knows of a way to do talk-to-text on this phone that would be helpful.

did someone know witch app on this phone is reliable for hotspot?

I would love to make my own custom ROM can anyone start me off?

levone1 Don't know if you all know about this already, (not my work, just sharing since I was happy to find it), but I've been looking for an alternative to the stock IME on my Schok, trying to copy apks from other flips, etc., because the built-in one is very skippy/jumpy, and I came across this - [Login to see the link] . Was pretty happy with it to begin with, but having an issue, so I opened an issue, and was shown an updated fork here - [Login to see the link] . Works great, and is far superior to the stock IME...

Nice can this help Archie ?

klien if you have filter like livigent you cant run commands
and (dont know if you knew this yet but it took me a min to realize) on webadb even if you add a phone you have to press connect to use the shell and then a bunch of letters come up on the shell and then you could use the shell

Flippy No. It's a great keyboard but no on the TCL Flip 2

                  Hi,
I plan to release beginning next week, the following 2 apps, customized for the TCL Flip.

To start, I have completely rewritten the Hebrew Keyboard. It is customized for the TCL Flip. It integrates well with the built-in keyboard, you switch between the two with a long press #

Also, I have created a sub-launcher for the TCL Flip. It mimics the tools page in the main launcher. It is for use only on Kosher phones without Browsers, as it installs as the Browser package, so it should show up on the default launcher, and act like the tools menu. By default, it will show all user-installed apps, plus any apps hard coded in the array resource. The user can add/remove apps from the list.

                  Looking forward,
                  Lionscribe

Reifam App just crashes. But it turns out this remix of it might work better. Working on it with Darth...
