If when the phone is turning on it says Version 1.1 then app installation is blocked. (If it says 1.0 then the workaround you found will work)

dovwcom your instructions have flashing the super.bin which by default may take 35-45 minutes - is there any reason that you haven't updated your instructions to suggest first flashing [Login to see the link] 's recovery.bin which cuts flashing the super.bin down to less than two minutes?
Just sharing my experience in case it helps anybody.
I had downloaded the files a a few(?) weeks ago and I had Talk& Text version 1.0 on my computer.
When I entered fastboot flash super super.bin, the initial response was "Invalid sparse file format at header magic".
It then continued and seemed to write super successfully.
Then I restarted, but it's stuck on the loading screen (Version 1.0). After a couple of minutes, the screen went back to a red "TCL" (maybe it restarted?) and then went to an Android Recovery screen, stating:
Android Recovery
Use navigation/power keys
Can't load Android
system. Your data may be
corrupt. If you continue
to get this message, you
may need to perform a
factory data reset and
erase all user data
stored on this device.
Try again

I first selected the hard reset option, then the same thing happened, so I selected "try again", but it keeps happening.
I then tried to flash 1.1 but the first two times, I got the following message in terminal in the middle of writing super (both at different stages):
FAILED (Status read failed (Too many links))
fastboot: error: Command failed
The second time I noticed that it happened when I moved my laptop. I figured I might be a loose connection causing this issue, so I decided to start it again and stay away from the laptop the until it's finished. (I didn't use the [Login to see the link] recovery.bin.)
The third time it worked fine.

If you see "Invalid sparse file format at header magic" after entering fastboot flash super super.bin, you can ignore it safely.
If I factory reset the phone will browser etc.. come back?
I would like The "talk only" with Waze only. is that an option or we need to build another rom for that?

Hi1 As far as the actual Rom themselves and the functionality and kosher of the phone there is no difference the potential issue with having the recovery2.img is that it is a potential backdoor.
boruch meir I added 'With Apps Option 3' which removed texting, keeps gallery, and has Waze.
I really just want the "Talk Only" option, but "Waze" only added.

Just to put it out there for novices; if you wanted to leave the images in their folders and then just direct ADB to the correct path you can do that also. Additionally, you can also rename the super.bin for each type if you were planning on filtering more than one phone, and then just replace with your selected name in the command.
Just want to know if [Login to see the link] would be interested in me creating a new custom splash screen that will look more official and pleasing. If you want send me the specs you need and I'll do my best. (I am not a graphics designer or anything, but I could probably conjure up something nice)
Also, I hate to be nitpicky over the apps, but if you would be able to make options 1&2 with a sefardi siddur Like the one posted on apps4flip [Login to see the link], it would really be appreciated!

It is made up of a bunch of pics played quickly (and the final pic plays on repeat until booting is finished), if you gave it to me as a gif I could use that also. I will try to switch the siddur when I have the time...
