  • Instructions for installing a kosher ROM on TCL Flip2/Classic T408DL

arongrossmanmtl did you install the drivers and restart your computer afterwards (very important)?

    lgexalter1 I flashed now the TALK BASIC ROM on my rooted TCL Flip 2 and All the apps that I installed before, got disabled. is there any way how to use the apps?

        a-one I had installed Qinpad and disabled the default keyboard before I flashed the ROM and now there was no keyboard because qinpad was deleted so I enabled the default keyboard with ADB

            a-one There is no way to enable those apps. The my Rom does not allow for any other apps to be installed. (Even if they were installed previously) What [Login to see the link] said is outdated and is not true anymore. In the op I wrote these Roms do not support other apps. I also wrote in my Version 1.2 Changelog

                is there a way to flash back to factory rom

                helpful tip to get to home screen while on a call turn mouse on click on the top of the screen it will pull down notifications scroll down using the volume keys and click on manage which will be on the bottom on the of the notifications and then hit the back button on your key pad and it will take you to the home screen
                to get back to call again use mouse to click on notifications and click on your call

                      I'm getting the following error while trying to open MTKMETA Utility
                      _![Application expired and can't run any more!, please check the developer for new builds**]
                      anybody with info?

                        is the first post updated with the latest ROM/instructions?

                          My phone occasionally freezes up (after a while it unfreezes) anyone else had this issue and have a solution?
                          Even when it happens the volume keys still work as well as the SOS button in the back.

                            joshuas5 if you want to use the old MTKMETA Utility just change the date on your computer to any date before jan 1st

                              lgexalter1 There's a cute little program called Runasdate to run a program using a diff date, I've had it for a while, but I never tested it on MTK meta, Here's a [Login to see the link]
                              It might not be necessary because there's an updated version, but if someone's having issues, or just a good app to have in your toolkit.

                                        kolelguy The result will be the same no matter which way you do it. If you do it through the quicker method it involves putting on a modified recovery on the phone which could potentially be an exploit. I think lgexalter1 was just saying that being that you made it sound like you were doing it for other people (because most people don't have multiple flip phones) to make sure whoever is going to have the phone cant try exploiting the recovery you can just reflash the stock recovery after you flash the Rom onto the phones.
