  • Removing In-App Browsers

cowculator I've used lucky patcher (which I believe I found somewhere on these forums) to remove permissions. For example if you can access an in app browser through clicking on "help center" in an app, sometimes you can remove the permission to click on "help center" for that app, in lucky patcher. Many times you won't have that option, or even if you do, the app might not work afterwards. This only works occasionally, but I guess it's better than nothing.

So, what do we do now?
I'm assuming you're supposed to rebuild APK with modified permissions, I'm just not sure which permissions I need to modify.

lgexalter1 How do you a) find out which activity uses it, and b) "mess with it"?

I'm getting an error telling me that I can't do anything to a certain app "as it is splitted using google's android app bundle".
Is there a way to get around that?

Biden2020prez This app has only XAPKs. I'm looking into trying to convert it to APK- do you know anything about that?
(Okay, for those who can't control their curiosity, the app I'm talking about is the MyHyundai app.)

lgexalter1 Just poke around the smali files

      Where do I find them?

ב"ה, I was able to successfully kasher the Drive Save & Safe app from State Farm.

      7 days later

darth Yes but not removing it from individual apps, removing it from android.

lgexalter1 Believe it or not, text messages don't work without webview (I once disabled it)

Biden2020prez So, ב"ה I now have the app in APK.
The issue is, when I make any changes to it, it can't re-pack the APK, because of the following error: brut.androlib.AndrolibException: brut.common.BrutException: could not exec (exit code = 1)
Is there a way to get around that?

Biden2020prez Is there something specific about this that you'd rather not be מפרסם, or is it just that you don't want to give שיעור כללי to the entire forum on tampering with APKs?
