• LG Classic Flip - I sideloaded the Rebel 4 Settings APK

I was able to sideload a full LG Rebel 4 Settings APK, but the process was quite involved.
Place this file on the SD card:

Get into an ADB shell and run these commands.
"am start com.android.documentsui/com.android.documentsui.ViewDownloadsActivity"
"input tap 30 30".
Scroll down to SD card (MUST HAVE SD CARD!), and run: "input tap 20 310"
Select LGSettings.apk, but the OK button doesn't work.
If it's on the left side "input tap 40 160" for right "input tap 160 160"
You can update the APK now, and you will now have access to enable sideloading from the file manager!

If I understand correctly you did this for the lg classic?
Can you briefly explain what we will be able to do after following these steps. Will we be able to install 3rd party apps?

xxdeafgirl wen I run "am start com.android.documentsui/com.android.documentsui.ViewDownloadsActivity"
cames up a error massage on my phone "file keeps stopping" any idea ??

mg5077 Factory reset and try this on a CLEAN INSTALL. ALSO NEVER ENABLE "Show Internal Storage"! You must use an SD card of any size (512MB is what I used) to store this APK on.

L-B It won't lift the signing restriction, but it will pave the way for enabling permissions, sideloading our "fake-signed" apps from the regular File Manager, and changing defaults without ADB trickery needed.

This is a regular Android settings application, pulled from another cheap LG prepaid Android smartphone.
It happens to be "compatible" with the LG Classic Flip if you follow my steps.
If your "Files" app is stopping a lot, back up and factory reset. I was not able to recreate any issues mg5077 as long as I factory reset before attempting this.

mg5077 Wait. I couldn't get this working. What command, PM INSTALL-CREATE?
I used pm install /sdcard/LGSettings.apk and it failed.

I found the easiest way to install it is through adb. The cmd will be “adb install -g -r [drag the apk from your desktop into the cmd prompt]“ and hit enter. If you would like to get back the original settings app you can simply type in the following cmd “adb shell pm uninstall com.android.settings“ and restart the phone. (Be careful not to do -k - -user 0) you can do similary by just installing a uninstaller app.

developer options dont work in hidden menu after lg rebel 4 mod is installed (meaninig cant get usb debugging or usb ethernet) unless there is a way to get there in the rebel 4 settings?

you just click on build number 7 or 8 times and then go back one menu and develpor options should be there

is it compatible with exalt vn220?

                9 days later

trying to uninstall using "adb uninstall com.andriod.settings but got error

                :adb uninstall com.andriod.settings
