  • Apps4Flip Launcher on Main Menu (LG Classic)

I thought of an idea for the LG Classic. I tried using the same method as [Login to see the link] to get the Apps4Flip launcher to show up on the main launcher. Basically, I uninstalled the browser and changed the Apps4Flip launcher package name to com.android.browser, but when I tried installing it, I got Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE]. Why would adb be bothering me about a version downgrade if the package I'm replacing was removed from the phone?

(I didn't get a chance to try installing the app from the phone, but I don't think it would install.)

FliphoneBochur Read the entire Tcl Flip 2 thread 😉 (Its only 1.2k posts). But yes we have root on that phone and all of the roms I made were made by editing the actual system and completely deleting system apps.

FliphoneBochur Impossible unless we find a compatible Qualcomm Firehose or some sort of exploit to get a rooted shell without flashing any partitions.

FliphoneBochur I think Lionscribe added an intent filter to make his app open intents to Tracfone's website, so you can use the dpad buttons on the homescreen to shortcut to his app as if you shortcutted to tracfone.com.

I spent a while trying to customize my LG Classic Flip's Launcher for myself, and was able to add the packages I want. I am not sure whether or not I will share it publicly, because it might take a bit more work getting it perfect for a release.

THE_SOMEONE I ported from a different phone, and added some missing features.

samtee What? Getting a firehose or root? that will totally change your phone.

my custom launcher? It's a different APK than the main launcher.

yteps No, I stopped a bit, then came back to it a bit, then stopped again.

I was trying to add certain features which are a bit hard in smali. Maybe I will post what I did and take it from there. But I still have a lot of code to clean up.
